When you are putting on the Sav-A-Shoulder Pad you must keep the buckle facing front on your chest. Place your arm between the pad and the Red strap making sure the round part of the pad is facing your neck. Then slide the Red strap under your arm and make it comfortable. Take the long portion of the black adjustable strap and put it around your body and snap it into the buckle in the front of your chest. If you need to switch the Sav-A- Shoulder Pad from one shoulder to the other just simply flip over the Red strap and place the buckle again in front of your chest, put the round part of the pad facing your neck and put  your arm through the Red strap and re-buckle.
